A Welding Engineer with experience of MAG, TIG and SMAW processes is sought by an established North East Engineering business
As a crucial member of the quality department, you will contribute to the success of the company by ensuring adherence to quality standards, process development, continuous improvement, and supporting training and development initiatives.
As a Welding Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive support across the site with flexibility in handling various tasks as per business needs.
- Ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with company procedures, meeting specifications, and supplying relevant supporting paperwork.
- Conducting inspections at different production stages, including supplier premises, to identify non-conformities in line with company procedures.
- Assisting Production with innovation, process development, standard operating procedures, and technology application for continuous improvement.
- Inspecting materials, welds, dimensions, and painting processes, with the possibility of training and development.
The successful Welding Engineer will need a good knowledge of welding processes, with MAG being essential, and TIG, SMAW methods being advantageous. You will need a good knowledge of quality and welding management systems ISO9001 and ISO3834 with some experience in EN1090-2 being an advantage. Familiarity with materials such as S355-60, 690-60 plate and pipe, and 960-40 plate is preferred. You will also have the ability to support the improvement of processes and procedures, competence in welder monitoring, weld sequences/ SOP, and distortion control and proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and international specifications.
