Job description

Welfare Benefits Officer (£32,724 per annum, full time, 12 month fixed-term contract)


Job Role


We are looking for someone to join our Communities Team, to provide a high standard of Welfare Benefits advice to individual residents, to enable them to maximise their incomes and provide support to manage debts, budget, access on-line services.


You will manage a caseload of residents referred for Welfare Benefits advice and support, ensuring high standards of support planning and positive outcomes to help to sustain tenancies.


You will refer and support residents to access external services and promote ways for residents to independently manage their tenant and access welfare support. The role requires collaboration with colleagues across the Communities Team and external partnerships including external agencies, DWP, local authorities, housing associations, community-based organisation's and have a general awareness of the services they offer to enhance delivery of support for residents.


You will have proven experience of providing Welfare Benefits advice and support and have excellent communication skills to work with residents, internal services and external agencies.


You will have proven knowledge of issues relating to debt, financial exclusion and Welfare Benefits to deliver outcome focussed tenancy sustainment solutions and person-centred support and advice.

Location Details


The role will be based in our Sevenoaks Office however we offer a flexible approach to hybrid working with full-time employees working in the office around two days a week.
