Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Well Construction Team Lead on a contract basis for a leading independent O&G operator based in central Aberdeen. It is an initial 6-month contract position on PAYE / Agency Worker basis.

ROLE:

The Well Construction Team Lead will provide technical and operational assurance for the Wells Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing assurance to Wells Project Teams as Well Construction Technical Authority by reviewing BoD’s, Risk Assessments, OMAR Notifications, Drilling/Completions/Workover/P&A programmes and MOC’s.
  • Providing technical support to Wells Project Teams by attending well related reviews – design meetings, BoD meetings, DWOP’s, rig readiness meetings etc.
  • Providing technical support for discipline Engineers.
  • Technical input into vendor supplier documents and tender reviews.
  • Owning and regularly reviewing documents in relation to well control equipment and procedures, including contractual arrangements with third party well control vendors.
  • Leading or supporting all wells incident investigations.
  • Assisting in preparation for regulatory compliance audits and assisting in responding to HSE, OPRED and NSTA recommendations.
  • Managing Subsea Team Lead & Completions Team Lead to ensure wells related due diligence conducted – BoD’s, Risk Assessments, OMAR Notifications, Drilling/Completions/Workover/P&A programmes and MOC’s.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant discipline/subject.
  • Previous experience in a similar Well Construction Team Lead type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company/operator, would be preferred.
  • Extensive discipline specific design and operational experience within the wells field is essential.
  • Experience in supervising adherence to wells management systems would be preferred.
  • Valid IWCF Well Control Level 4 certification is essential.
  • Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
