Our Purpose
This is great opportunity to help take forward a new and exciting new 1 year pilot initiative for our Healthy Weight Healthy Lives - Children and Families programme, across a targeted selection of our local children and their families. The aim will be to provide holistic support for children and their families, delivering an attainable peer model to support those engaged to attain a healthy weight and wider healthier lives, also considering the wider determinants of health and health inequalities that can inhibit people from being able to make positive lifestyle changes.
Your Role
This role will provide holistic support to a selection of local children and their families to help them achieve healthy weight and providing support to the Wellbeing Specialist in terms of making bookings, setting up clinics and sessions.
The Wellbeing Worker role principally centres on providing person centred support to individuals requiring support with their general health and wellbeing.
The role will involve using a coaching approach to proactively engage and build supportive relationships with target populations in North East Lincolnshire, understanding “Who and what matters to them” encouraging and motivating children and families, helping to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. We work to empower our clients to take control of and improve their health and wellbeing, which will include managing a varied caseload.
About You
We are looking for people who are dynamic and enthusiastic with a high level of autonomy, excellent communication skills, able to work on your own initiative and as part of a dynamic team. You must have proven experience of excellent listening and communication skills and understand empathy, unconditional positive regard and client autonomy is key to effective and positive support of our programmes and their development.
If you've had expereince of any of the below, we'd love to hear from you...
- Health promotion principles and practice or delivering programmes that are based on a motivational coaching ethos.
- Experience of data systems, report writing and communications in addition to administration and setting up clinics.
- Support and encourage behaviour change in the areas of healthy eating and physical activity, weight management, mental and emotional well-being and connecting with others.
- Act as an attainable peer to facilitate client group to feel at ease and feel they can be supported holistically to mee their respective needs?
