This Work Planner will report to the Engineering Team Leader and will work within Network Operations based in our Strood office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £48,326 per annum and a bonus of 3%.
Close Date: 25th January 2024
Once training is completed the role offers Hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Job Purpose:
To enhance operational effectiveness, safety and efficient utilisation of resources by working within the region supporting the Operations Manager & Engineering Team Leaders manage the rapid response rota, liaise with field staff and make necessary changes
Job Dimensions:
Provide administrative support to the EHV team and become a point of reference for SPN EHV network, related IT systems and be prepared to train others
Identify opportunities for improvement and work with colleagues to deliver these.
Build relationships with other teams both within UK Power Networks and external partners
Principal Accountabilities:
Maintain the Planning Board to ensure field staff annual leave, medical appointments, van services, tool testing etc. are recorded to enable the ETLs to utilise all available resources
Use the PowerOn/ADMS Trouble Call System, dispatching and scheduling maintenance staff where required.
Support the EHV team in processing of work orders in SAP (CRM/PM/MRS)
Facilitate and record minutes for local HESEC and other meetings.
Record annual leave and other absence for all field-based staff in the area.
Manage stand-by rosters, working with Engineering Team Leaders to ensure rosters are.
Raise and processing of purchase orders using SAP, including the generation of management reports.
Work with Engineering Team Leaders to ensure that costs are correctly allocated to jobs allowing them to be closed down promptly.
Ensure that customer queries and issues are addressed and promptly, referring difficult complaints to the Operations Manager.
Assist in the provision of financial reports for the Area by the preparation of SAP reports to enable the control of finances within the team
Help produce Utility and HV/ LV plans.
Ensure that Electricity Guaranteed Standards are adhered to and correctly recorded.
Willingness to carry out a storm role during system emergencies.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential to this role
Good level PC literacy and use a variety of systems (e.g. Enmac, Ellipse, and SAP) with fast and accurate keyboard skills.
Good customer-facing skills with the ability to manage and resolve customer issues and queries.
A basic understanding of the Network and the types of jobs undertaken.
Work co-operatively with others to achieve shared goals and improve the contribution of all members of the team.
High HS&S awareness and builds into all decision-making
Make a contribution to most engineering network, or business, redesign processes.
Exercise good and loyalty to the organisation. Clear sense of duty, conscientious and generally conforming to the team decision.
Very keen to set out what work is needed to be done and record/ monitor progress.
Preferably have a minimum of a City and Guilds 2339, formally 232, or willing to work towards such a qualification
Measure of Success
SAP, Power-on and PM updated promptly.
Cover is maintained as annual leave is authorised following agreed procedure.
Stand-by rosters.
Deliver maintenance, activities within the productivity as agreed with the Operations Manager.
Utilisation of resource across the department .
SADs league table position and volume of tools/equipment not available for use
Cost meets agreed stretch budgets
Staff score positively in staff surveys
Safety performance with 0 LTI's.
NB. Some accountabilities/activities will vary dependent on the team's activities and any specific requirements
Should you not possess the full range of essential skills, qualifications and competencies listed above, there may be an opportunity for further training to equip you. If you do not possess all relevant competencies for the core grade, it will be appropriate to appoint at a lower grade until they have developed the required competencies.
