About the role:

We are therefore seeking a hands-on Workplace Technology Manager to not only manage a team of dedicated Workplace Technology engineers but also act as the technical escalation point for any issues faced by the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive modern workplace strategy aligned with the ambition of the business. Lead the modernisation of end-user computing both in our corporate offices and retail stores.

Technology Implementation

  • Take charge of the deployment and management of end-user computing devices, ensuring seamless integration of modern technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT and retail teams to transform the end-user estate

Technical abilities

  • Provide hands-on support to the Workplace Technology engineers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources for enhanced productivity. Proactively address and troubleshoot issues related to end-user computing devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems such as: Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Management, Windows Defender, VMware Workspace One, Powershell
  • Knowledge of tracking and documenting projects/initiatives via the Atlassian Suite

Training and Development

  • Develop training programs to educate engineers to ensure upward progression.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to promote a shift left culture.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and enforce security protocols for end-user computing devices to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration by promoting effective communication and teamwork through modern tools.
  • Facilitate the adoption of collaboration platforms to enhance communication and project management in corporate offices and retail stores.
Key requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cyber Security or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in the retail industry or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Proven experience in vendor management
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on both accuracy and quality
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving circumstances.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software. (Jira/Confluence)
  • Ability to work proactively and independently to take ownership of tasks, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Flexibility to travel and work extended hours where necessary during critical phases of projects.
  • Your meticulous planning and execution will play a vital role in ensuring that our brand continues to thrive through each successful store launch.

  • Transferable skills from other Service based, Technical Project or Technical disciplines
  • Experience with Retail Systems, POS and peripherals
  • Project Management or Automation skills
