WHAT TO EXPECT
The role is for the Design Integration, Technology Manager for Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME), overseeing the utilising and optimising Manufacturing Engineering Digital capabilities throughout GME from concept to the delivery phase JOB1 + 90 days in assisting of Off-cycle and On-cycle actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all Off-cycle and On-cycle activities that drive the development and proliferate usage of Building Information Management (BIM) methodologies to improve facility design and installation quality cross technology
- Lead the appropriate Off cycle activities that develops the capabilities to enhance the products flowing from the on cycle activities. Body of knowledge creation & curation and Innovation ownership
- Manage the rollout to assist the Layout System Integration Standard facility toolset, design, operating principals, procedures and policies, performance metrics, safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and environment objectives are met
- Manage the methodology and rollout of the Layout System Integration JLRway Standards to GME Facilities functions
- Able to work effectively with GME Construction and Technology Programme teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints
- Manage/guide/lead the Building Information Management development process using the toolset knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints to ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions
- Manage/lead the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of Layout System Integration Standards and assist the rollout of BIM methodology across JLR
- Manage the continual Lesson learnt process for process improvements through Off-cycle process
- Mentor and train Junior team members and graduates
- Absence & PULSE
- Interface with External business bodies to be SME of best practice for BIM methodology and lead this in JLR
WHAT YOU-LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience of JLR's Layout System Integration Standard toolset (Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Navisworks, Vault, Recap)
- Experience and background in Leading BIM layout development and leading digital facility asset storage and revision control systems
- Leading deployment of BIM attributes and application levels
- Project and people management skills
- Experience in production sites
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Microsoft package elements Power Point, Teams and Excel
- Thorough Understanding and Application of Lean Tools and Techniques
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment
