We are seeking a Workshop Technician with a strong background in mechanical operations and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing workshop services, including fluting and grinding of mill cylinders, sieve recovering, small repairs, and occasional upgrades/overhauls, under the supervision of the Engineering Works Manager.
Day to Day of the role:
- Operate CNC & PLC machines for fluting and grinding of mill cylinders.
- Handle manual press and lathe operations.
- Conduct quality control and inspection with detailed accuracy using tools such as micrometers.
- Manually dismantle and rebuild roll packs & perform bearing fitting services.
- Complete and store all necessary documentation using MS Office tools.
- Maintain and ensure efficient operation of Buhler equipment on-site.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous machine workshop experience is essential.
- Experience with manual lathe and cylindrical grinding is preferable.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Skilled in CNC machine set-up and operation.
- Ability to use measuring instruments effectively.
- Experience with fluting and grinding machines would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent people skills and a sharp focus on customer service.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- IT knowledge, particularly MS Office.
- Good time management skills.
- Team player who is flexible, responsible, and accountable.
