She is looking to appoint on a 6-month contract for an emergency service provider in Bury St Edmunds IP28.  To be considered for the post you will need to demonstrate that you have the experience of management in a transport or fleet environment with significant experience as a fleet engineer or transport manager of a fleet in excess of 100 vehicles.

Summary of the role

To assist with the development and delivery of a strategy to ensure that East of England Ambulance Service has a fleet that is fit for purpose, is maintained in a cost-effective manner, and meets operational and patient needs.

To develop, provide and maintain an efficient maintenance and workshop service and ensure value for money third party arrangements are available for all Trust vehicles. To manage and lead the Trust’s fleet offices to ensure an effective fleet support.

The post holder will actively seek commercial opportunities to create and develop income potential and contribute to the business plans for developing the workshop facilities/business.

Manage the day-to-day provision of any independent or specialist contractors in coordination with the Trust’s maintenance contractors to ensure a seamless provision of the wide range of services required for the Trust’s vehicles.

Monitor the performance on quality, conformity to specification and value for money of all the Trust’s accident repair contractors.

This is a full-time post, 37.5 hrs per week Thursday – Monday between the hours of 08.00-20.00hrs.
