Role: Workshop Engineer - Plant Fitter

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 (depending on experience)

We are recruiting an experienced Plant Fitter / Service Engineer for our well respected client within the Plant Hire sector.

The Position:

As a Workshop Plant Fitter you will be tasked with the maintenance, service and repair of a fleet of construction machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include:

• Diagnostics of faults with the plant equipment
• Reactive and preventative repair of the plant machinery
• Documenting and filing service information / records
• Completion of all work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Representing the business in a professional customer focused manner at all times
• Raising workshop jobs, ensuring these are added to the system with relevant details of all jobs including hours, parts, service maintenance and repair work
• Carry out stock management, reporting any issues and delays that may occur
• Ensuring parts are available prior to beginning any maintenance on plants
• Requesting purchase orders to be raised for parts and liaising with transport Manager on stock holding suggestions
• Ensure all damage repairs are reported and photographic evidence is provided
• Ensure all documentation is recorded for all work completed

Skills Required:

To be considered for the Workshop Plant Fitter role candidates must have the following:

• NVQ Level 2 in Plant Mechanics / Maintenance or equivalent, or time served
• Experience of working on heavy plant equipment
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
