The role includes providing day to day technical support and advice to staff and to students studying a diverse range of performing arts related courses such as Music, Audio Engineering, Dance, Acting, Contemporary Theatre, Music Theatre and TV and Video, An important part of the role also involves rigging and operating lighting, audio equipment and audio visual projection as part of a technical team supporting student productions across our five theatre performance venues.
The successful candidate must be educated to HND level in a relevant subject area and/or have experiential learning in a related discipline. You will need to be a practical person who possesses robust current working knowledge of live audio and theatre lighting equipment and is able to demonstrate an understanding of electrical theory within a studio and theatre setting. The ability to adapt your knowledge and experience to support staff and students across the wide range of subject disciplines we support would be a distinct advantage. You must also have good verbal and written communication skills. In addition an understanding of or experience in Lighting Design would also be an advantage. A flexible approach to the working pattern is required as some weekend, evening work and overnight stays will be necessary.
