We are looking for people who are interested in a part time role that can be flexible around your timetable, current commitments and schedule. This role is a perfect opportunity for a student who would like to earn an income around their time at university or for someone who is looking for a flexible part-time role.
We need people who are able to start in February who can provide notetaking support and laboratory assistant support to students based at University of Worcester.

Responsibilities:Dependent on the role you undertake you will be providing support to students alongside their studies and your responsibilities may include:
- Producing accurate and legible handwritten notes for lectures, seminars/tutorials and group tasks- To maintain a professional role as a support worker and be aware of the need to maintain this professional relationship with the student at all times- To act in the best interests of learners at all times whilst also working within the policies and procedures of the institution- Providing practical support, this may be in the library, laboratory or workshop/studio etc. As well as mobility support to assist a student with a physical impairment in manoeuvring around the campus- Reading aloud- Scribing- Text checking (pointing out errors but not providing corrections)
Specifically for lab assistant support:- Attending Lab session and following health and safety procedures- To assist students with practical work in the labs i.e support with setting up experiments, putting the correct measurements in test tubes (this may occur if a student is visually impaired for example) etc…- Support with helping the student understand the instructions within the lab and carrying out the necessary instructions if the student is unable to do so.- To ensure students have the necessary equipment during lab work, i.e retrieving equipment, the student may be physically able to do this safely themselves as they may be in a wheelchair- It may also include taking notes of anything that was covered in the lab if the student is unable to write notes (i.e dexterity issues, visual or hearing impairments)
Requirements:- Punctuality and reliability- Good listening and communication skills- Ideal candidate will be compassionate and committed to helping others- Have neat handwriting- able to produce notes in a legible and presentable manner- You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
Specifically for lab support: - Experience working within a lab/Background in science (ideally you are or have studied a science based course at university)
