Yard Operative/Driver

Thornbridge Timber, part of National Timber Group are looking to recruit a permanent Driver/Yard Operative to join their busy, well-established branch in Thornbridge Yard, Laurieston Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8XX.

The successful candidate will be a customer-focused, confident and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. Previous experience in the timber industry preferred but full training will be provided. Clean driving licence essential.

Main Duties:

• Operating Internal Transport Vehicles; Combi – lifts as required
• Carry out daily start up checks on vehicles where requested on site
• Put Stock away into its correct bin location, rotating on a first in first out basis
• Loading/Unloading of External Delivery Vehicles
• Have a pro – active attitude to stock levels generally, advising Management as appropriate of low or out of stock situations, or slow moving/over stock levels
• At all times work in a safe and responsible manner as not to endanger your colleagues, customers, plant, stock, machinery or buildings.
• Ensure Yard and Warehouse areas are kept clean at all times, utilising recycling bins where possible

Working hours, Benefits and Salary:

• Full time position, Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm, alternate Saturday mornings 8.00am to 12.00pm. An average of 44.5 hours per week.
