Overview:

We are excited to offer a unique teaching opportunity within our primary school in Luton for a Year 5 Teacher. This role offers flexibility in working days, ranging from 3 to 4 days per week, perfectly suiting those seeking a balance between professional commitments and personal time. You will lead a class of 10 exceptionally well-behaved and eager-to-learn students until the May half-term. Our school is committed to maintaining small class sizes, with a maximum of 23 students, to enhance learning outcomes and foster a close-knit educational environment.

Role Purpose:

The Year 5 Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging education to Year 5 students, fostering their academic skills and nurturing their enthusiasm for learning. This position plays a key role in ensuring that our students are well-prepared for their final years of primary education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver creative and impactful lessons that adhere to the national curriculum, tailored to the needs of a small class to maximize individual learning experiences.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary to support each student's academic journey.
  • Create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and student well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members to enhance the educational experience for students.
  • Participate in the school's planning processes, benefiting from reduced individual planning time thanks to federation-wide collaborative planning efforts.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and how they can support learning at home.
  • Take advantage of allocated PPA time for planning, assessment, and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualifications recognized in the UK.
  • Experience in teaching Year 5 or similar age groups, with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students, creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Commitment to professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.

Why Join Us?

  • Unique opportunity to work with a small, engaged class of 10 students, allowing for personalized teaching and learning experiences.
  • Flexible working days (3-4 days per week), providing an excellent work-life balance.
  • Supportive school environment with dedicated teaching assistants and a culture of collaborative planning.
  • Access to federation-wide resources and planning support, significantly reducing the workload associated with lesson planning.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys in a school where children have a genuine desire to learn.
