Young Carers Volunteer:
Young Carers Volunteers are required to support the running of activities, the weekly youth clubs run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Greenham. Support is also required during the School holiday with different activities which can take place across West Berkshire, activity dependent.
Young Carers Volunteer Driver:
Volunteer drivers are required to take children and young people to their Young Carers’ activities/sessions. By giving a little of your time, you can help young people who look after their relatives access activities, as well as practical and emotional support.
Preferred skills/qualifications/experience:
Volunteers will require access to their own vehicle and a clean driving license (unless you are volunteering solely for activities which you are able to access on foot. Please make this clear on your application form).
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy speaking to and supporting children and young people.
Training/Support:
Young Carers Volunteers will have access to West Berkshire Council’s training programme
Disclosure and Barring Service Check requirement:
Volunteers and Drivers require enhanced DBS checks
Additional Checks:
Volunteers are required to submit two references
Time Commitment:
Volunteer Drivers are required to collect Young Carers prior to and following the above planned Youth Clubs. During the school holidays the times will vary depending on the activity
Location:
Weekly youth clubs take place on a Wednesday and Thursdays in Greenham.
School holiday activities can take place in different areas across West Berkshire.
Volunteer Drivers are required to transport Young Carers to the various activities across West Berkshire.
Expenses:
Young Carers Volunteers will be able to claim for out of pocket expenses for example light refreshments.
Young Carers Volunteers and Driver will be able to submit travel claims for mileage at a rate of 45pence a mile.
