Job description

We are recruiting a Youth and FamilyEngagement Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 16 Hours
Contract Type: Part Time/ Fixed Term until 31st March 2025
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

We pay an attractive salary of £11,425 - £12,441 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The post holder will be required to work at various locations across the borough, undertaking face to face work with children, young people, and their families. The sessions will include offering activities, support, guidance, and information to those involved.

The role involves direct delivery of sessions for families and young people, undertaking administrative tasks, supporting both indoor and outdoor activities whilst working with partners. Transporting is a key part of the role and therefore the ability to drive is essential.

The post holder will be required to work flexible and will be expected to be available for regular evening sessions and occasional weekend work.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake home visits, attend meetings etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Youth Work or an associated field.
