We are looking for an experienced candidate who has a passion for seeing people be more active, happier, and healthier with a desire to make a positive difference to the communities we serve. This will be someone who has a passion for young people and families, someone who is approachable, reliable, and proactive with a track record of delivering positive interventions or skills in social work, youth work, creative arts, or teaching background.
Purpose: Provide outcome-focused interventions to young people and families, and work collaboratively with beneficiaries to provide appropriate support by following adequate steps to implement appropriate interventions to achieve the desired outcomes.
Duties:
- To conduct initial assessments with beneficiaries and support to develop individual well-being action plans.
- To support the needs of the individual clients and undertake measurable intervention reviews regularly.
- Facilitate one-to-one sessions, coordinate peer group mentoring and keep an accurate record of sessions.
- Plan and facilitate group sessions and out-of-school provisions for young people aged 6 - 18 some of whom may have complex needs as a result of multiple disadvantages.
- Work closely with parents to provide emotional and practical support with adequate signposting where required.
- Work closely with a range of statutory organisations and community partners.
- Contribute to safety, well-being and safeguarding children's strategies of ReflecTeen to make a positive difference in young people's lives through an intervention approach that ensures good outcomes for young people.
- Deliver a functional behaviour intervention for parents and young people through restorative justice and family reunification.
- Provide support to young people who may have experienced trauma, abuse or violence, empowering them with skills to address their underlying risk factors.
- Implement a range of intervention approaches to improve young people and families' relationships.
- Attend regular supervision sessions and undertake all necessary ongoing training.
Essential
- Strong proven leadership skills and experience working with the BAME community.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
- Previous experience working with young people and families within the Children, Youth and Families sector.
- Experience in managing caseloads, one-to-one interventions and facilitating group workshops.
- Experience in developing new projects, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and qualitative and quantitative data collection tools.
- Experience in managing and enabling communication between multiple stakeholders.
- Commitment to, and understanding of, equal opportunities and safeguarding.
- Strong attention to detail and process.
- Ability to prioritise, manage workload efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in working with disadvantaged communities and understanding of the issues ReflecTeen seeks to address.
- Submit to Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced checks.
Desirable
- Relevant bachelor’s degree.
- Able to self-manage and work flexible hours.
- Experience in developing training resources and materials.
- Experience in running activities/club sessions/events.
- Experience in report writing.
- Hold the full UK driving licence and have access to transport.
Salary - £28,000 Full time equivalent pro-rata
Permanent role Guaranteed 3 years subject to annual appraisal
The post holder will be required to work flexibly typically 10am-6pm. Due to the nature of the role, evening, weekend and bank holiday work may be required.
