Newport Youth and Play Service offers a range of provisions for children and young people aged 5-25 and consists of a talented and enthusiastic team of professional youth and play workers who operate across the city. This set up consists of play and youth clubs, one to one and project work that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of children and young people in communities.


The Youth and Play Service promotes a strong connection between targeted and universal work that ensures there is a consistent offer of support to children and young people when they need it.


An exciting opportunity has become available within the Youth and Play Service for a Youth Homelessness & Wellbeing Coordinator. This post will develop and deliver youth engagement and early intervention activity aimed at tackling Youth Homelessness and Wellbeing within Newport. To work in partnership with colleagues within education, housing, social care, and the voluntary sector to ensure a co-ordinated and targeted approach is in place to support young people at risk of Youth Homelessness and improve wellbeing. You will pro-actively engage with young people in a variety of settings to offer support and advice.


This post is fixed term until 31st March 2025 with a possible extension linked to grant funding.
