Job description

Wakefield Youth Justice Service is seeking to appoint two committed and motivated individuals who are passionate about making a difference.

What does the role involve?

  • You will manage a caseload of children across YJS provision, you will undertake assessments, planning and interventions with children involved in statutory and non-statutory Youth Justice and diversionary programmes.
  • You will work alongside partner agencies across the district and beyond you will contribute to managing and reducing risks to children, victims and communities.
  • You will develop and fulfil the ambitions of vulnerable children by adopting a child first approach.
  • You will involve children and families in the review and design of services and promote meaningful participation to positively influence service delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area e.g., Youth Justice, Probation, youth work, social work or teaching, or;
  • The ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and skill gained through relevant experience and employment.
