A fantastic role has recently become available in a highly regarded specialist school in Westminster, Southwest London.

This highly regarded school in Wesminster look after children who have been diagnosed with Autism. Many of these children also have co-existing issues such as social, emotional and mental health needs.

The school need a Youth Mentor to come in and support their students in their day to day activities.

The students that attend this school are between the ages of 4 and 16. Each child has a personalised educational and health care plan and individual intervention plans designed to help them thrive. As a Youth Mentor, you will be part of ensuring that they are able to complete their academic work while also helping them navigate through their emotions. You will also play a part in helping them learn functional life skills, helping them be as independent as possible.

• Deliver specific interventions that have been designed with the student, their needs and goals in mind
• De-escalate any meltdowns and behaviour that may occur
• Help the children work through their big emotions
• Create a safe and engaging learning environment

People who would benefit largely from this role would be psychology graduates a well as those with a background in sport, art, drama or music.
