The Youth Offending Team (YOT) in Barnet is looking for dedicated professionals to join our team as Youth Offending Team Officers. You will play a key role in our multi-agency approach to prevent offending by children and young people.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Youth Offending Team Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising statutory orders for children and young people.
- Ensuring court sentences are delivered.
- Preparing pre-sentence and referral order reports.
- Representing the YOT at courts.
- Working in partnership with other agencies.
- Using assessment tools to gather and analyse information.
- Developing and delivering intervention plans.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Keeping up to date with legislation and practice.
- Ensuring health and safety compliance.
Requirements:
- A professional qualification in social work, probation, youth and community work, health, education OR relevant degree and experience of working with children and young people.
- Experience of direct work with challenging and hard to engage children and young people.
- Experience of direct work with offenders.
- Experience of working within a statutory framework.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.
- Strong decision-making and negotiation skills.
- A valid driving licence and access to a motor vehicle.
