Job description

We are currently recruiting a Youth Outreach Worker to join our Fearless team based in Surrey. This is a full time, fixed term role, working 37.5 hour per week and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £26,000 per annum. This role is home based, but regular travel across Surrey will be required, own car essential, travel expenses will be paid.

About the role:
As a Youth Outreach Worker, you will help young people to understand different crime topics and break down the barriers to reporting crime. This will be done through the delivery of workshops in schools and other youth settings. The Youth Outreach Worker will also build partnerships locally with other organisations, to provide a coordinated response to youth crime and exploitation across Surrey.
Key responsibilities of our Youth Outreach Worker:
To deliver our Fearless programme for young people in Secondary Schools and youth settings across Surrey and for the professionals working with those young people;
- Facilitating a bespoke Fearless workshop
- Ensuring the workshop links to the prevention needs of young people within Surrey and surrounding area
To build partnerships locally with: Secondary schools/academies, Pupil Referral Unit’s (PRU), youth agencies, Police, Local Authorities and other organisations
Support Fearless Head Office Team to develop content for Fearless social media platforms
To create and build relationships to deliver activities in term time and school holidays
What we're looking for in our Youth Outreach Worker:
Confident and organised individual
Experience in evaluating outcomes
The ability to plan your own work, use your initiative and meet deadlines
Training and understanding of Safeguarding
Experience of developing and delivering workshops
Significant experience of working with young people
Experience of working in a school environment or similar
Understanding of key crime issues experienced by young people
Experience of working in a youth setting e.g. youth clubs, PRU’s
Excellent communication (including proficient use of MS Office programs), presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate with a variety of different audiences and stakeholders
