ROLE & MAIN PURPOSES OF THE POST
1. Delivery:
- Engage young people in coaching and mentoring sessions across various settings, including schools, youth clubs, young people's homes, and partner spaces.
- Build trust and rapport with young people, creating inclusive and supportive environments that enable them to thrive.
- Assist senior coaches in planning and preparing interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of young people during individual and group coaching sessions.
2. Program Support:
- Compliance: Assist the team in adhering to GGM's internal management processes and funder requirements.
- Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to a collaborative learning environment by sharing skills and knowledge with colleagues.
- Program Improvement: Support continuous improvement by identifying potential cost-savings, funding opportunities, and service enhancements through feedback collection and data analysis.
Essential experience:
· Supporting young people in a youth work capacity.
Desirable experience:
· Experience of supporting young people from a diverse range of backgrounds and needs.
Essential knowledge, skills and qualifications:
· Awareness of challenges facing communities and young people.
· Written communication skills.
· Verbal communication skills.
· Understanding and commitment to safeguarding principles and practices.
· Team worker
· Able and willing to travel across Greater Manchester and commit to evening and weekend sessions.
Desirable knowledge, skills and qualifications:
· Ability to motivate, support and develop trusting relationships with young people.
· Youth, play or counselling qualification.
· First aid qualification.
