About this opportunity
An opportunity to support the expansion of the service into the Eden area, the post holder will engage with children up to the age of 18 who present with Substance Misuse needs.
You will act as a first point of contact for referrals from local hospitals, schools, the Police and other agencies working with children on a non-statutory basis. The role involves delivering targeted supportive interventions to children focused on harm reduction.
The post holder will also provide advice and guidance to colleagues within Children’s Services as well as developing and engaging with pathways with other specialist Substance Misuse organisations, including to support transitions to adulthood for service users.
Who we are looking for
The right candidate will have experience of working with and engaging young people and their families who may have complex needs. You will be able to take a strength based approach to empower people to make changes while demonstrating persistence to overcome any problems.
The post involves the ability to organise a varied workload, accurately collect and record data related to your work and maintain accurate written records of work delivered.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children.
