A remarkable school in the Nailsea area, dedicated to building trusting relationships with 12 girls who have experienced significant trauma and struggle with navigating life, is looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant.
This school offers a unique setting, working in a converted house in a cul-de-sac, creating a cozy, homelike atmosphere. Their focus extends beyond academic success as they focus on the personal growth of each student, meaning you’ll often find yourself in unconventional settings like the beach or a coffee shop.
Position Details:
- Immediate start in June, continuing until the end of the academic year with extension into September under a contract.
- Working hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, with an early finish at 12:30 pm on Fridays (term time only).
- 2 hours of daily planning, no lunch or playground duties, and no marking required.
- Enhanced TA rate of £100 per day, paid weekly.
The girls, aged 11-18, follow personalized education and care plans tailored to their learning levels. The school's philosophy focuses on healing and connection, steering clear of the 'behaviourist approach,' instead embracing a holistic method. The aim is to serve as a supportive, positive role model and confidante for the students, guiding them to become confident individuals.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will:
- Be able to drive, as the school is located in the BS21 (Clevedon) area.
- Be confident in managing children who display challenging behaviour.
- Enjoy making each day exciting in the classroom and creating a safe space for the students.
