Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a large UK Defence client to recruit an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to assist on the 10 Dock project on a 52-week contract for its Devonport site.
The Senior Structural Engineer role comes with a day rate of up to 70p/h. (DOE)
Key skills
- Hold a Batchelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering.
- Be a Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council - Desirable.
- Hold experience in Civil/Structural Engineering (predominantly buildings experience)
- Have Seismic Design experience (preferable).
- Hold experience management of sub-contractors/consultants.
- You'll be required to ensure systems are designed against a clear statement of compliance with defined requirements, including demonstration that the design meets relevant HSE requirements.
- Support in the delivery of Structural Engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
- Support in the management of the Structural Engineering elements of the new buildings, ensuring designer technical performance and making appropriate technical responses.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert advice for Structural Engineering.
- Provide Technical design guidance and review integration of structural designs with other design packages

- Role is site based out of Devonport.
- Position is Inside IR35 and offers a rate of up to 70p/h.
- 52-week contract
