We are looking to appoint to our team, a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant with a warm and caring nature, who is passionate about making a difference to children's lives to join our committed and supportive team. The post will be to work in our Early Years Foundation Stage. There is a possibility of full time or part time positions to be discussed at interview.
The person appointed will need to be able to work discreetly, both inside and outside of the classroom, liaising with the class teacher and SENDCOs.
We are looking for someone with:
· The ability to establish a sympathetic and understanding relationship with the child
· An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and the necessary and complex requirements relating to this particular role
· Experience in providing support to pupils with special needs such as Autism, Speech and Language Difficulties and SEMH.
· Experience working with children with communication and interaction difficulties and sensory processing issues.
· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to keep detailed and accurate records
· The ability to work as part of a team
· The ability to follow procedures exactly and also be able to work under your initiative
· Nurturing skills and the ability to be able to be supportive whilst helping the child develop their independence skills.
· Able to work as part of a team and individually
· Good sense of humour
