Job Title: 2nd Line IT Support Engineer

Location: Central London

As a vital member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide second-line technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex IT problems, escalating to third-Line Support or vendors when necessary.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including network devices, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor system performance and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime and mitigate risks.
• Document support activities, procedures, and configurations to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Assist with IT projects and initiatives, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a 2nd Line IT support role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with end-users at all levels.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) would be advantageous.
