Salary: £14 - £17 per hour, DOE

Hours: 42.5 hrs, Monday - Friday

A family run company, Magnetic Shields Limited (MSL) is the industry leader in the design and manufacture of magnetically shielded products and rooms. Our brand new factory unit and Fibre laser with full stock automation has doubled our production capacity and throughput. This period of expansion is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking to speak to applicants interested in joining our production team as a 3-Axis CNC Machine Programmer & Operator.

The job role:

• The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for programming and operating the 3-Axis & 5-Axis CNC milling machines, to manufacture a range of products from billet or part made fabricated shields.
• The role will require an organised individual to ensure that all consumables for a job have been ordered (material/cutting tips/consumables etc) in preparation for starting a job in line with delivery dates.
• Design and manufacture of any required fixtures or tooling in relation to the machining of the production parts.
• The candidate will also be involved in the NPI process, giving feedback to the sales team on whether customer designs are feasible for machining.

Essential Skills:

• The candidate must be able to set, program and operate a CNC 3-Axis Mill, preferably Duguard, or Haas mills using Heidenhain and/or Fanuk control systems
• Experience of low-volume, high quality batch machining
• Ideally have experience of Inventor CAM software or equivalent CAD/CAM systems using offline programming where necessary
• Experience of machining Nickle-alloys, stainless steels, aluminium & copper would be beneficial
• You must be able to work from engineering drawings, CAD models and have the capability to check your own work
• Team player and be able to work to tight deadlines
