3Rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

You will sit within the IT Department to manage and ensure that the IT infrastructure group-wide is running smoothly, providing expert knowledge in support of a culture of continuous improvement and supporting any BAU service issues. Due to the distribution of the Group\'s sites, a UK Driving licence is Essential.
Your new role
In this role you will cover a wide range of support tasks through your support to the group through the Service Desk at 2nd and 3rd Line level. As well as the maintenance/development of the underlying IT infrastructure that runs critical systems.
Effectively manage time to ensure both response, project-based work and ensure all systems are being monitored successfully and to respond to any alerts promptly.
You will be responsible for the maintenance & development of Microsoft On-Premises Infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) as well as their Cloud Infrastructure - (Office 365, Azure AD, Intune)
This role requires a great understanding of VMware infrastructure, SAN infrastructure and Citrix Infrastructure.
You will be tasked to maintain/develop the group\'s network infrastructure - LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, Firewall.
Due to the nature of the business, it is crucial that the backup systems are maintained to ensure the smallest Return to Operation (RTO).
Implement and maintain thorough documentation as well as identify, develop and deploy new solutions to improve business processes.
Responsible for all server rooms. Ensure monitoring systems are operational and escalate issues with other departments when required.
Requires physical on-site presence. This will include travel to all group sites as necessary.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Networking knowledge to CCNA level (CCNA Certification desirable)
* VMware
* Citrix experience
* ITIL foundations certification (desirable)
* University degree in the IT field or equivalent demonstrable industry skills.
* Microsoft Server
