Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Server Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Sheffield, UK

Requirement:
Hands-on Implementation / installation experience with x86 blade, rack-mount, and virtual server infrastructure.
Expertise on server hardware platform on one the following products such as Dell x86 servers, HPE Gen9, rack blade server and Lenovo think systems rack server.
Experience in rack and stack of the above server, Hard ware configuration, power on servers.
Experience in (HPE Integrated Lights-Out_iLO) and Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) management.
Setting up hardware and configuration of software and drivers
Troubleshoot system failure bugs and coordinate with product functionality.
Excellent troubleshooting skills HPE Lenovo Dell
Through knowledge of server hardware components including HDD, Network interface,
UEFI etc.
Expertise in server management software such as Dell Open Manage, HPE OneView smart update manager.
Experience in replacing CPUs, DIMMs, power supplies, or other server hardware.
Certifications in one or more of the following server hardware HPE,Dell, Lenovo.
Remote hands-on expertise on server hardware.
Scope of Services, SLAs, and KPIs
May also require occasional driving and/or traveling overnight for business functions or site visits.
Engineers also provide remote support for US region, but volumes are very low.
Engineers support each other cross region by carry out non-physical tasks as and when needed. This often is a benefit when dealing with spikes in demand in different countries.
Work can also include server hardware upgrades, fault resolution, fault reporting on non-live servers.
Travel between Data Centres as and when required.
Knowledge of Dell, Lenovo and HPE x86 technology essential.
Knowledge ofSMART, ServiceNow, NLyte, Appeture, Teams, Outlook, Zoom.
Outcome or Critical Deliverable
Outcome is servers physically installed, Firmware updated, Prechecks carried out, troubleshooting performed both during and after initial handover to OS teams or customers. Service is provided to both CTO and non-CTO customers. Without timely installation a high-quality service many major projects across the Bank will be impacted (eg.
