Location: You will be working within the Anglian Water region. We offer hybrid working, however, you will be expected to commute to our Cambridge office every Monday.

Our region is environmentally sensitive and we recognise that all our abstractions must be environmentally friendly as part of our commitment to enhance the natural environment. This is a business critical role to ensure we meet the increased regulatory and public expectations to address unsustainable abstraction across the Anglian Region.

This role will provide the holistic view of abstraction reform risks, challenges and mitigation across the Anglian Region, ensuring the security of upstream resources and continuity of supply to customers. This role will be a key integrator between both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management and mitigation is in place to address our abstraction reform challenges.

In this role you will be working closely with the Water Resources Environment Manager and Abstraction Licencing Manager, preparing high quality written reports. You will lead technical discussions for both an internal and external audiences. Examples include our internal supply, drought and maintenance delivery teams. Externally we work closely with the Environment Agency and Natural England.

What does it take to be an Abstraction Reform Lead?

  • Strong report writing, data analysis and presentation skills - essential

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Numerate and literate, with an eye for precision & detail

  • Project Management experience with proven experience of stakeholder management

  • Ability to support stakeholders understanding of technical information

  • Water or relayed operational experience - preferable

  • Experience of working with regulators such as the Environment agency - preferable
