We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Academic Administrator to join the Department of Graduate Studies (academic department) on a full-time basis (35 hours/week). Working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, you will be reporting to the STEP Programme Leader and responsible for academic administration primarily for international Postgraduate Preparatory Programmes (PGPP) and the graduate Secondary Teacher Education Programme (STEP). This includes upholding high standards of quality and accuracy in the maintenance of student, teacher, module and programme records, engaging with Moodle and other online learning tools, and setting up courses.
Working both independently and across DGS teams supporting the academic journey of prospective and current students.
Your duties will include the following:
- Managing all aspects of academic administration with the department from timetabling, teaching logistical support to maintaining academic records
- Timetabling and teaching logistical support including Zoom bookings, liaising with the teachers (internally and externally to the IIS)
- Administering the Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle), and managing assessment and marking processes
- Handling academic-related enquiries from students and faculty, and supporting and tracking the work of global faculty body
You will require:
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven work experience as a Academic Administrator, or similar role
- Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions) and ability to use data management systems.
- Highly diligent and proficient in coordination and planning
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
