Job description

Job title: Account Manager

Reporting to: Sales & Partnerships Director

Job Purpose: Growing the value of your member portfolio by retaining and upgrading existing members, acquiring new members and cross selling relevant services.

The Consultancy Growth Network is an international member-only community of founder-led consulting businesses. The network provides founders and directors of these companies with access to actionable advice from experts that have built high performance consulting firms, bespoke referral networks of clients & vetted suppliers, as well as unique business benchmarking data and market insights. Launched in January 2020, TCGN run approximately 30 events p.a. largely online with 4 big face-to-face events p.a.

We currently have 140 member companies, with 350+ individuals within our Network and we have plans to double our membership in the next 2 years.

There are two primary aspects of this role:

  1. Member Management: Looking after a portfolio of consultancy leaders who are already members of the Consultancy Growth Network and,
  2. Sales: selling to consultancy leaders, who are not members to join the network.

Taking each of these in turn:

Key Responsibilities - Sales

  • Selling memberships to prospective firms, mostly via Zoom or by phone.
  • Effective renewal/upsell conversations with current members encouraging them to leverage services such as training, GAP, awards, advisory services.
  • Working closely with the Partnerships Director to manage campaigns.
  • Maintaining an organised CRM system and pipelining/tasking accordingly.
  • Managing & creating data lists to support campaigns.
  • Actively get referrals from existing members to increase pipeline.
  • Use social media especially linked-in to build and maintain relationships with potential and existing members, encouraging them to engage with TCGN e.g. attending an event.

Key Responsibilities - Community Management

  • Understanding the key challenges faced by members and helping them identify relevant solutions by recommending assets on the Growth hub or introducing experts that can help.
  • Seeking to continually improve the member experience to create maximum levels of member advocacy.
  • On-boarding new members and conducting welcome calls.
  • Identifying opportunities within the Network to make valuable introductions.
  • Having regular progress calls with members to review how they are getting on with addressing their key challenges, identifying new opportunities for learning and making recommendations.
  • Responding to individual requirements from members via email, Slack and calls.
  • Supporting the hosting of face-to-face events and facilitating member round tables.

Required Competencies - Essential

  • Able to relate to the challenges and pressures faced by business owners.
  • Good at building rapport quickly, enjoys building relationships and helping people.
  • Enjoys taking a structured approach to manage a large portfolio of members whilst being comfortable deviating out of process when in the interests of the member and the business.
  • Minimum three years’ sales experience.
  • An ability and desire to learn, be that giving and receiving feedback or reading / listing to the latest thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and credible with owners.
  • Immaculate personal presentation and preparation when attending client meetings or events.
  • Flexible attitude and able to do what it takes to succeed in a small business environment.
  • Resourceful with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated to work remotely (1 day required to work in the Guildford Office)

Required Competencies - Desirable:

  • Good use of MS Office (includes PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Practical day to day experience of managing and using a CRM system, ideally Hubspot.
  • A good understanding of the consulting market; a background of working with or within a consulting or advisory business.
  • Curious about how we can leverage technology to increase efficiency and improve the member experience.
  • Capable of adding value to the team through sharing of ideas to ensure we are continually improving the way we do things.

Package:

£36k - 40k plus bonus up to 20% bonus, plus pension contributions in line with regulatory requirements.
