Account Manager (Freight & Logistics)
£26k +
 
My client is an extremely well-established freight and logistics provider operating globally across land, air and sea freight movements and due to growth, we are delighted to support in their search for an experienced Account Manager to join their successful team based at the customers site, near Haydock.
 
You will be responsible for ensuring all day-to-day aspects of freight forwarding are adhered to, dealing with customs brokers, external shipping firms, customers and overall ensuring a seamless operation through to final delivery, within a vibrant & busy environment ensuring all targets are met and customer expectations delivered.
 
Hours: Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and maximising your one account to grow and develop to achieve with current business plan.
  • Determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of transporting goods to ensure timely delivery while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Dealing with and finding new hauliers to maximise maximum profit share on work and building relationships with suppliers.
  • Using various freight exchanges and freight platforms that we have access to.
  • Full administration of the booking process from quoting to delivery.
  • Weekly reports to be submitted every Thursday.
  • Use Azyra as a central core system making sure all transport details, documentation etc is attached, while also utilising the system as a live system and keeping all revenue and accruals up to date.
  • Implement vertical selling strategies to our customers, customer base to expand our service offerings.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also capable of working independently.
  • Highly proactive with work and able to find solutions effectively and quickly.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the role.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiating skills to secure deals with suppliers.
  • Previous experience in a freight position required.
  • Previous sales experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
