Accountant

My client has multiple entities in the Hospitality sector and is known for providing exceptional service and great guest experiences. They are looking for someone to head up the Finance function, working directly with their Head of Commercial, looking after their UK and International entities. This is a senior position for them, as they look for this to grow into a CFO position.
They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to head up their finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and hospitality industry practices, including cost accounting. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Cost Accounting and month end.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliation of bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation and filing.
• Monitor and report on financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality sector.
• Fully qualified – ACCA / CIMA / QBE
• Strong cost accounting experience
• Experience with international entities is ideal
• Proficient in accounting software – Xero would be ideal
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
