We are representing a highly successful and growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire. Our client offers a comprehensive range of accountancy services tailored to meet the unique needs of their diverse client base.

We are currently seeking an experienced and technically-minded Accountant (AAT Level 4 – ACA/ACCA) to join our client’s team in a newly created position.
If you have in-depth knowledge of Xero, prior experience in a similar role, and possess strong technical expertise in accounts and tax preparation, this opportunity could be perfect for you.
For this Accountant’s position, what will my day to day duties be?
* Providing support to a varied portfolio of clients throughout the year.
* Preparing accounts, Corporation Tax returns, and Personal Tax returns up to the final review stage.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns through MTD (Making Tax Digital).
* Liaising with HMRC and handling related queries.
* Resolving accounts queries with clients and offering expert advice.
* Identifying and researching technical issues that may arise and providing appropriate solutions.
* Assisting with ad hoc project work as required by clients.
* Collaborating with and supporting other team members.
What skills and experience do I need for this Accountant position?
* Previous experience in a similar role within a practice environment.
* Working knowledge of Xero and experience working with clients who use this software.
* Strong technical competence in all aspects of accounts and tax preparation, including the ability to prepare up to the final review stage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and data management.
* Motivation to stay up-to-date with the latest technical knowledge and industry trends.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Adaptability, innovation, and the ability to work proactively and independently.
* Flexibility to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
* Willingness to contribute and support all areas of the business.
* Familiarity with HMRC’s online portal for filing.
* Experience with a range of cloud accounting software would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of payroll and PAYE is a bonus, though not essential.
