Accountant - Heringtons Solicitors

My client is Heringtons, a respected and successful firm of solicitors with five branches across East Sussex. This role is based in the historic town of Battle opposite the famous Abbey, and the office has the benefit of a private car park as well as being a short walk from Battle railway station.

Working along-side the Estate Accounts Executive, your duties will include:

• Preparation of estate accounts from a review of files for the private client department
• Consideration of income and capital gains tax positions by obtaining information from institutions and asset holders
• Ensuring a prompt response to fee earners
• Provision of accurate accounts of a high standard
• To further develop knowledge of trusts, tax and court of protection.

You will either have experience of working in a solicitor's office with accounting, tax and capital gains knowledge, or have an accountancy practice background with exposure to estate accountancy.

Either way, you will be comfortable working on your own initiative, sometimes under pressure, and be able to manage your own time/workload with meticulous attention to detail and quality at all times.

Hybrid working is available - two days home/three days office, and you will be required to travel occasionally to branches in Bexhill, Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye.
