A Day in the life of an Accountant
It's a stimulating and technically demanding role with an organisation-wide remit. You will be involved in providing general advice on accounting and month end queries. You will help in our adherence to the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
You will be part of a team seeking to maximise the financial performance of the organisation. This will be done through financial planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting to aid decision making across all functions.
The work you will do will be crucial to the work of the organisation, and therefore vital to the lives of those in crisis. Your skills directly contribute to supporting our humanitarian efforts, making a real difference in the lives of those we aim to help.
This role might be for you if...
- You're preferably a CCAB qualified accountant (or part-qualified, and working towards qualification), with sound knowledge of accounting standards and practices.
- You're highly computer literate with substantial experience in Excel, Word and computerised financial systems. Experience of Agresso or similar accounting software an advantage.
- You’re able to plan and manage substantial projects and activities.
- You have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team within a complex organisation.
- You have a genuine affinity with the organisations purpose and drive to make a positive personal impact.
- You have a keen eye for detail, with problem-solving, decision making and effective communication skills.
- Experience of building (and maintaining) strong and effective relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
