Role: General Accountant Location: Leighton Buzzard

Duration: 6 months, potential to go permanent.

Hours: Flexible 39hrs - core hours are Monday to Thursday 9-4:30 and Fridays 9-12:30.

Pay rate: £25/hour

• Preparation of monthly VAT returns.
• Completion of high quality monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to be completed by specified deadlines.
• Compilation of information to submit regular and ad hoc National Statistics surveys, including working with budget holders to obtain timely and relevant information.
• Ownership of the fixed asset process, including liaising with fixed asset requestors, FP&A leads, and Central Fixed Asset teams to ensure that appropriate approvals are obtained, and documented in the eCAR approval system.
• Management of GRNI (good received not invoice) balances.
• Support month end close process including preparation and posting of journals. Familiarity with JDE systems preferable but not essential.
• Support the internal control environment process documentation, monitoring and compliance activities.
• Working with apprentices to build their skills and experience on an ad hoc basis, and to guide them through additional tasks that may be required; and
• Support reconciliation of inter-company accounts; and
• High quality completion of any other ad hoc tasks required by the business.

The primary location for the role will be on site at our Leighton Buzzard location, with the hours being a flexible 39 hours per week, with core hours of Monday-Thursday 9am to 4:30pm, and Friday 9am to 12:30pm.
