Kenneth Brian Associates are recruiting for a very exciting opportunity for a growing company based in Crawley who are looking for an enthusiastic Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, professional and friendly finance team at one of the UK's leading service providers.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will work across all aspects of finance with the primary responsibility for the Accounts Receivable function.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic and a great communicator, looking to develop their knowledge and skills whilst supporting the business through an exciting period of growth.

Detailed responsibilities:

• Processing of multi-currency customer invoices and credits
• Review of customers to ensure that credit terms provided are appropriate to minimise risk of bad debts
• Reconciliation of customer accounts and issue of statements
• Credit control management through regular communication with customers to ensure that all receivables are collected on time
• Overall responsibility for ensuring timeous and accurate processing of cash book transactions
• Completion of multi-currency bank reconciliations
• Weekly cash forecasting for Financial Controller
• Completion of month-end reconciliations to assist with month-end close
• Assist with all aspects of financial accounting for recently acquired subsidiary, this includes processing of invoices and raising payments
• Assist with intercompany reporting and reconciliations
• Finalisation of subsidiary ledgers (AR, AP, CB) for month end close
• Provide holiday and absence cover for other finance functions as and when required
• Other adhoc finance and administration tasks as required

About you:

You will be a self-motivated team player keen to progress and develop practical finance/accounts knowledge, skills and experience.

You will have at least 2 years’ experience working as part of a finance team in a similar role, and working towards an accounting qualification, preferably CIMA or ACCA (study support will be provided). Alternatively, we will also consider applicants who are suitably "qualified by experience".

• IT literate with excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel (previous experience of Sage Line 50 accounting a plus)
• Confident with good verbal and written communication skills
• Numerate and able to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
• Well organised, able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines
• Customer focused and able to build positive working relationships
• Confident and able to use your initiative to effectively resolve issues and ask for help where needed
• Flexible in approach, and eager to get involved in other aspects of the business when required
