CMA are currently working with an SME business who are on a strong growth trajectory. Due to their continued success, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Accounting Manager to manage the day to day accounting in its entirety with some support from an external practice. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial management of an exciting business in Bishops Waltham that is continuing to exceed targets. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This is a hands-on position that requires a high level of attention to detail, organisation, and proficiency in accounting software.
The role is for a full time position, but flexible or reduced working hours may be considered.
What will the Accounting Manager role involve?
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including receivables and accounts payable through to supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs.
- Ensure that VAT treatment is correctly applied to the application.
- Liaise with suppliers with regard to payment queries.
- Issue remittances and payments weekly.
- Perform monthly subcontractor statement reconciliations.
- Chase up outstanding invoice payments.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in payroll processing, working closely with a third-party payroll provider ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Maintain employee payroll records and address any payroll-related enquiries.
- Generate regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
Suitable Candidate for the Accounting Manager vacancy:
- Previous experience within a similar role.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record -keeping.
- Effective communication skills.
- Conversant with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word.
