Job description

An experienced and driven Accounts Administrator with accounting experience is needed to join the team at this leading specialist lubricant company based in Nelson, on a full-time basis. 

They are looking for an enthusiastic person who can work alone or as part of a team. You must have good numeracy, literacy, organisational, and IT skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and train other staff members.

Experience in an accounting environment is essential for this role. The successful candidate should have a good background in Microsoft Excel and Sage Line 50.

Your hours of work will be Monday through Thursday, 08:30 to 17:00, and Friday, 08:30 to 17:00, with an alternate weekly finish at 15:00.

The customer base is global, including users in the automotive industry, the bakery industry and other specialist industries requiring a bespoke chemical solution to a processing problem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations for Sterling, USD and Euro accounts
  • Petty cash handling and month-end reconciliation
  • Processing BACS and International Payments
  • Posting Customer Invoices and Credit Notes onto Sage Line 50 
  • Reconciling and Posting Monthly Credit Card Statements
  • Processing Employee Expenses and Private Mileage
  • Reconciling Supplier Statements and dealing with discrepancies
  • Credit Control - Liaising with customers via email and telephone in relation to the outstanding debt
  • Posting of Supplier Purchase Invoices for both Stock Purchases and Non-Stock   Purchases onto Sage Line 50
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures 
  • Other Ad-hoc administrative duties 
  • Accruals and Prepayments, including Journal Postings
  • Monthly VAT Returns
