An Accounts Assistant is needed in the Accounting & Finance department of a prominent retail company, based in Preston. The role involves assisting in financial reporting, maintaining records, and providing accounting support to the team.

Description
- Chasing outstanding payments by telephone, email and letter.
- Evaluate credit risk for new and existing customers and ensure credit limits are within guidelines, set by the Financial Controller.
- Updating the debtor's ledger.
- Posting and allocation of customer payments
- Process supplier invoices.
- Ensuring that statements and invoices are sent out within agreed time frames to reduce late payments.
- Chasing outstanding payments
- Maintaining accounting records and invoices
Profile
A successful Accounts Assistant should have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field would be beneficial
- AAT level 2 or equivalent
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong numerical and analytic skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
