Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Finance as Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for assisting in providing accounting services in order to support the accounts function in the timely delivery and integrity of the assigned income statements, balance sheet accounts and year end audit.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Exhibit GC values: accountability, passion, integrity, excellence, collaboration and personalisation.
- Accountable for understanding Consumer Duty policy and procedures; partnering and collaborating within the team to achieve set standards.
- Input invoices onto GCEN online and Xero
- Analyse expenses and calculate VAT breakdowns for GCEN and the various entities
- Download credit card statements and provide commentary and summary
- Download monthly bank statements and complete the bank reconciliations
- Prepare the bank charges and bank interest schedules
- Prepare GCEN VAT return for review
- Prepare commission analysis, investigate differences and update the monthly summary
- Ensure the Fixed asset register is up to date
- Assist the finance team when needed with queries for all entities
- Support audit preparation and complete audit tasks for all entities as required
- Support in the implementation of the accounting package
- Escalate accounts concerns to the HOF promptly
- Respond to ad hoc query reviews in a timely and professional manner
- Complete other duties relevant to the role as required
- Complete expense summary by the 4th working day of the month for the previous month
- Complete the VAT return for review by 2nd week of the end of the quarter
Qualification & Experience
- Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel to be able to prepare large volume data tables ie. pivot tables, look up, what if.
