Accounts Assistant

As Accounts Assistant you will assist the Finance Manager and Finance Team to provide robust and continuously improving accounting and management information to the businesses using the Shared Service Centre.Key ResponsibilitiesOwnership of procedures for cashbooks and production of bank reconciliations.Administer requests for payments – initiate and record transactions, following prescribed procedures, within given deadlinesOperate and improve your own share of accounting processes, providing valid balance sheet support where appropriateAssist in the compilation of data to support external and internal audit requirementsEnsure appropriate procedure notes are maintained, updated and documented for defined areas of responsibilityProvide support to the Finance Manager and other team members, as required, ensuring effective maintenance of internal processes.Involvement in key projects within the Finance Team, SSC and Group as directedWhat We’re Looking ForFinance, accounting or other numerical degree or studying towards AAT or other financial qualification (e.g. CIMA/ACCA)Must have good degree of competence in Microsoft Excel and be willing to learn how to use other IT systems.Experience of procedures in a finance environment would be advantageousWhat We Can Offer YouStudy support for evening, weekend or home study in the form of funding for training and exams.25 days holiday + bank holidaysAdditional holiday purchase schemeSalary Sacrifice Pension scheme (auto-enrolment after 3 months, employee pays 5% + 3% Vp contribution)Annual bonus schemeLife Assurance cover- 3 x salary (from day 1)Share Save SchemeEye care vouchersRecommend a Friend SchemeLearning & DevelopmentFree tool hireFree onsite parkingA Little Bit About UsEstablished in 1954, Vp plc has evolved into a dynamic group of companies with expertise in equipment rental.
