An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join one of the UK’s leading Cash & Carries. As part of the Finance Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business through a period of growth, supplying a diverse clientele from independent retailers to prestigious hotels, restaurants, clubs, and pubs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Answering the telephone and being the first point of contact for finance-related queries.
- Processing and matching invoices, controlling invoice errors, and ensuring goods are invoiced correctly.
- Conducting supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies using internal systems.
- Preparing payment runs and matching direct debits.
- Banking cheques and reconciling vouchers for posting.
- Cross-posting between suppliers and sales ledger accounts using Excel.
- Providing reception cover as needed.
- Performing general administrative duties, including the use of Word, Excel, and various databases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and a good standard of numeracy.
- A-Level or equivalent qualification is preferred.
