Accounts Assistant / Legal Cashier - £26,000 - Harrogate
My client a successful solicitors is looking to take on a new Accounts Assistant / Legal Cashier to help our with general day to day firm duties.

Responsibilities:
- Cashiering and accounts maintenance using the Firm's accountancy package (TFB/Partner for Windows)
- Process Banking and accounting transactions including reconciliations in accordance with and having good working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules November 2019.
- The preparation of cheques, bank payments and the processing of bank transfers on RBS Bankline as per the firms Policies and Solicitors accounts rules.
- Review and process Solicitors bills of costs and completion statements before conveyancing completion takes place. Processing receipts and payments on day of completion.
- Have knowledge of Purchase Ledger.
- The opening of new matters on the system and ensuring all due diligence (AML forms) are completed in accordance with the Firms Compliance manual.
- Assist the Practice Manager with Month and Financial year end accounting procedures to include running, printing, and reviewing reports.
- Maintenance and administration of the Firm's petty cash system.
- Assist with preparation of the firm's VAT returns.
Requirements:
- Strong Excel and numerical skills
- Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules Nov 2019
- AAT or ILFM qualified or part qualified for either professional body.
- Knowledge of the Firm's accounting software
- Previous experience as cashier in a Solicitors office
