As part of the Central Finance Accounts Payable team, the Accounts Payable Assistant will ensure supplier invoices and employee expenses are processed, approved, and paid efficiently as well as carrying out regular month end tasks. Candidates will need a keen eye for detail, be able to accurately follow processes and work effectively as part of a team as well as being able to work independently.
The key objectives of the role are to ensure all invoices are recorded onto the system in a timely manner and that expenses comply with company policy and tax legislation. We are also looking for a team player who can support the objectives of the PL team, the wider Finance team, and the Company as a whole.
Key duties:
Setting up new suppliers.
Registering incoming supplier invoices.
Ensure Invoices get to the appropriate team for approval and that the approval is received in a timely manner.
- Processing travel invoices from travel provider.
Processing employee expense claims while monitoring compliance with expenses policy.
Resolving internal and external queries by email and phone.
Performing supplier statement reconciliations.
Processing credit card expenses and banking cash receipts.
Carrying out month end close processes.
Any other Accounts Payable tasks as required.
Your experience and qualifications:
Team player willing to work in a busy team
Motivated and flexible
Willingness to learn and enthusiastic to understand new processes
Attention to detail
Assertive and capable communicator
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and email
Experience working in an Accounts Payable or transactional team
Basic understanding of VAT
Experience in Unit 4/Agresso is beneficial but not essential
Studying towards AAT or completed AAT
