Accounts Payable Assistant

Our fast-growing, prestigious, and well-known client in Ipswich is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team on a full time, fixed term basis (1 Year.) The successful candidate will work a key role within a busy Accounts department and work a varied role. Key duties include but not limited to:-

• As the support for the AP Controller, your responsibilities include maintaining accurate accounting records in a timely and efficient manner.
• Posting payments including Direct Debits and Proforma onto the ledger and matching them to invoices when necessary.
• Collaborating with the Finance team to ensure seamless accounts-related purchase processes throughout the company.
• Ensure all payments on account are matched to purchase invoices within KPI timeframes.

Although this role is on a fixed-term basis there is certainly the potential opportunity for permanent employment depending on the candidate and business needs.

• Previous working experience working in a related Finance role, ideally purchase ledger related (cash book and reconciliations)
• An understanding of the accounting function, including Direct Debits, Bacs, purchase to pay etc.
• Brilliant verbal and written communication skills
• IT proficient with a good understanding of Excel in particular
